Kamara s lawyer Aamer Anwar released a statement this afternoon, welcoming the move. It said: “Today Police Scotland confirmed that a case against Ondrej Kudela was submitted to the Procurator Fiscal (Scotland’s equivalent of the CPS) for consideration, relating to a match played between Rangers FC and Slavia Prague on March18. The police believe they have sufficiency of evidence for a criminal charge of ‘racially aggravated conduct’ by Kudela, towards Glen Kamara. Such a charge would normally be prosecuted under Section 50A(1)(b) of the Criminal Procedure Scotland Act 1995, and if Mr Kudela was found guilty of an offence under this section on summary conviction, he could be sentenced to imprisonment for a period not exceeding 6 months, or fined a sum not exceeding the statutory maximum, or indeed both such punishments could be imposed.
