2 homeless children denied the right to attend Salisbury Township schools, suit says
Updated May 10, 2021;
The school district solicitor, however, says the children never qualified as homeless.
The lawsuit filed Thursday, May 6, says the 10-year-old girl and 15-year-old boy were denied the right to attend school in January and February 2020.
The lawsuit says they were living with their aunt in the school district at the time. According to the lawsuit, then-superintendent Randy Ziegenfuss conducted an investigation and determined in November 2019 that they were living with their mother outside the district.
The lawsuit maintains that they lived most of the time with their aunt despite the district’s findings.
