Rockets' red glare: East TN communities plan Independence Day fireworks

Several communities already have released their plans for the July 4 weekend. Author: WBIR Staff Updated: 7:12 PM EDT June 9, 2021 KNOXVILLE, Tenn. As life slowly and thankfully returns to pre-pandemic normalcy, it is no surprise that multiple cities are announcing Fourth of July events. WBIR is keeping a running list that will be available on an ongoing basis as we learn about more festivities. Remember, July 4 is on a Sunday this year. Some events are on the actual day; others are a day or two beforehand. Where to watch fireworks: City of Knoxville: World s Fair Park, July 2, beginning at 9:30 p.m.

Knoxville announces live concerts & small fireworks show for 4th of July weekend The city will host two concerts on Friday, July 2 and Saturday, July 3, at World s Fair Park. The City of Knoxville won t be holding its usual big Festival on the Fourth this year but will host a smaller celebration to mark Independence Day. The city will host two events leading up to the 4th, on Friday, July 2 and Saturday, July 3, featuring live music at World s Fair Park. Friday s concert will conclude with a small fireworks show.

Mark Isom, the founder and president of Premiere Building Maintenance Corporation, presented the entrepreneurs with checks during Impact Week, a virtual fundraiser held in late 2020 for the Knoxville Area Urban League’s community initiatives, including the 10-week CO.STARTERS training program for entrepreneurs. Isom provides funding for the program, along with Randy Boyd, founder and executive chairman of Radio Systems Corporation, and his wife, Jenny Boyd.
