Two new troopers arrive at Post 9

A total of 38 new Kentucky State Police (KSP) troopers graduated from the KSP academy Nov. 18, and two of those have reported for duty at Post 9 in Pikeville.

Six new troopers joined the ranks of Kentucky State Police Post 9 on Jan. 25. Many of those troopers are from either the Post 9 area or Eastern Kentucky and graduated with the KSP Academy’s 100th class. News-Express photo by Gary Slone On January 22, forty-five new Kentucky State Police troopers graduated from the KSP Academy, and six of those new troopers were assigned to Post 9 in Pikeville. Troopers James Cress from Slemp in Perry County, Joshua Diles from Phelps in Pike County, Dalton Kidd from Grethel in Floyd County, Adam Pierce from Elkhorn City in Pike County, Christopher Tyree from Whitesburg in Letcher County and Braxton Whitmore from Hazard in Perry County reported for duty Jan. 25.
