Also the vineyard serves as a great fire break because the soil is tilled and crops are wet. At there point, crews have to keep the fire from spreading laterally. The smoke was first reported around 4 00 since then, firefighters have been fighting this fire on the ground and by air although there are some high tension power lines in the area so that does hinder the fire fight from the air to some extent.
