You see, the majority of undocumented immigrants and green card holders in Massachusetts are white from Europe and Canada, but these immigrants are not suffering the racist injustice of today’s immigration policies that our present president has so aggressively pushed and that are racially motivated immigration policies. Telegram & Gazette Attorneys who practice in Massachusetts are bound to support the Constitution of the United States and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. So I was surprised to see an op-ed by attorney Randy Feldman supporting and even celebrating the circumvention of immigration laws. Attorney Feldman has been a popular and frequent guest on local radio and television shows and therefore has a following. His recent op-ed in the Telegram & Gazette defended the Citizen s Advisory Council s decision to waive the voter registration requirement for serving on Worcester government boards and commissions, thereby giving political power to persons who are not citizens. His bizarre analysis justifying his support of local non-citizen political empowerment is based on his dismissal of the importance of national citizenship. Indeed, Lukes eyebrow-raising Dec. 4 editorial in the Telegram & Gazette showed her at her political brawler best. The target? Allowing non-U.S. citizens to sit on volunteer city boards.
