Brittany Higgins has met with Prime Minister Scott Morrison for the first time since she made public claims she was raped by a colleague inside Parliament House more than two years ago.
Speaking after the meeting at the Commonwealth Parliamentary offices in Sydney on Friday afternoon, Ms Higgins said the discussion between the pair was robust .
The ex-Liberal staffer met Mr Morrison to discuss her plans to make workplaces safer for employees. The Prime Minister acknowledged that the system has let me down and we were in agreement that there needs to be reform, Ms Higgins told reporters. It was a difficult conversation to have on a personal level. It was very hard to come here. We discussed that there needs to be better safeguards for staffers where there are power dynamic issues between parliamentarians and individual staffers.

She has already met with Labor leader Anthony Albanese and was pictured leaving his offices alongside her boyfriend, former journalist David Sharaz.

Brittany Higgins has revealed her six demands to help stamp out sexual assault, harassment and workplace exploitation in federal politics.
The former Liberal staffer, who claims she was raped by a colleague in Parliament House in 2019, wants to meet Scott Morrison next week to discuss her proposals.
The prime minister has previously said he would be happy to meet Ms Higgins but despite numerous discussions his staff are yet to confirm a date.

Brittany Higgins boyfriend has criticised Scott Morrison for refusing to apologise to ousted Australia Post boss Christine Holgate.
In a tweet on Wednesday, David Sharaz wrote: Genuine question: why is it so hard for our PM to apologise to women?
The jibe came after Mr Morrison said he regretted causing distress but stopped short of saying sorry to Ms Holgate who accused him of bullying her out of a job last year.

Scott Morrison has confirmed he will meet privately with alleged parliament house rape victim Brittany Higgins.
The prime minister s chief of staff wrote to Ms Higgins last week to organise the meeting and outline which topics will be discussed.
Speaking to reporters in Perth on Wednesday, Mr Morrison said: I m looking forward to meeting with Brittany.
