RANCHI: The Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) has identified over illegal 200 buildings constructed on the catchment areas of various water bodies and in other parts of the city and served notices to some of them for demolition.
Speaking to reporters here on Wednesday, RMC commissioner Mukesh Kumar said that the civic body isn’t targeting anyone and is merely following the provisions of the Jharkhand Municipality Act, 2011. “By the power vested in RMC by Section 437(4) of the Jharkhand municipality Act, it is the civic body’s mandate to demolish any illegal structure within its limits. The orders have been passed after following the due procedure,” Kumar added.
