Schools and colleges reopened on Monday in more districts of Punjab for matriculation and intermediate levels, while all classes will resume from June 7.
The schools and colleges reopened in whole Punjab except the Khanewal and Rahim Yar Khan districts, where rato of coronavirus positive test results is over eight per cent.
However, the attendance of students remained low on the first day and parents appeared to be apprehensive of the risk to the health of the children.

All government and private schools and colleges in 13 districts of Punjab were opened for class nine to 12 students on Monday amid restrictions of 50% attendance.
These educational institutes have reopened after a break of 36 days.
In its latest decision, the Punjab government allowed schools to remain open twice a week, on Monday and Friday, with only half of the students in 13 districts of the province.
The districts bound by the decision have been identified as Lahore, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Multan, Faisalabad, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Sargodha, Toba Tek Singh, Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan and Dera Ghazi Khan.

A spike in the dropout rate of students from government primary schools has alarmed the government, prompting it to consider measures to stop the situation from deteriorating further.
The authorities have decided to provide meals free of cost to the students of selected schools in addition to the textbooks and education being offered without fee. The step is aimed at increasing the interest of the children as well as their parents in their school attendance.
However, the provincial education department appears unable to pursue an aggressive school enrolment campaign in the prevailing
