GP surgery told they must wear full PPE

GP surgery told they must wear full PPE Tue, 02 Mar 2021 A GP surgery says it has been told they must wear full PPE. Ramsey Group Practice said it was contact by the Department of Health and Social Care yesterday. Posting on social media, the practice said: Face coverings must be worn by patients when entering the building. We have put a trolley just by the entrance with hand sanitizer and masks on for you if you don’t have your own. Health Minister David Ashford previously said there was no requirement for face-coverings to be worn.   Subscribe to get Energy FM News direct to your mobile device

Ramsey GPs say complaints on social media are damaging and inaccurate

Ramsey GPs say complaints on social media are damaging and inaccurate Wed, 23 Dec 2020 Doctors in Ramsey say social media posts which give the impression that they’re not seeing patients are ‘inaccurate’ and ‘damaging.’ There have been comments on Facebook from some people who say they’re unable to get face-to-face appointments or that telephones aren’t being answered.  The Department of Health says Ramsey Group Practice is following the standard procedures that were brought in for all GPs during the pandemic. People calling for an appointment are asked questions to see if they need to be seen by a doctor or if a telephone consultation is the best option.

Figures shown to MHKs were out of date: GP

Dr Christopher Waldrum at Ramsey Group Practice The number of face-to-face appointments seen by Ramsey GPs has risen - but this is still well below that of other surgeries. Figures released in the House of Keys this month showed that only 38% of appointments at Ramsey Group Practice were face-to-face in September. This compared with 90% at Finch Hill surgery, 86% at Hailwood and 85% at the Kensington practice. But figures for the week beginning November 23, seen by the Examiner, show that Ramsey GPs are seeing more patients in person, with the figure rising to 50.2%. But that’s still well down on the second lowest of 63.8% at Castletown surgery.
