trees will be cut and sold this holiday season. for the farmers who grow and sell them, it s more than a business. it means being part of a time-honored christmas tradition. but there s a supply chain problem caused by drought. john lauritsen of our minneapolis station wcco has tonight s weekend journal. we re starting to really get things in shape. reporter: tis the season at hansen tree farm. their busiest time of year has just begun and there s plenty of work to do. we have 40 acres here in ramsey. 25 is in christmas trees. reporter: brothers david and mark run the farm, which has been a family business for 70 years. they have about 10,000 christmas trees ready to be cut. but this year will be different. prices will be up slightly due to drought. it was brutal. the trees this year didn t grow as much. the big trees. and so it was really brutal is the word. reporter: ideally, during the growing season, their trees would get about an inch of rain a week, but the hansens
