Paolo “Pulong” Duterte yesterday distributed cash aid and rice packs to 84 individuals affected by a fire on Maundy Thursday in Barangay 5-A Pag-asa, Bankerohan, this city. The fire gutted 13 houses and partially damaged 15 others, leaving the victims homeless. They were temporarily sheltered in a gymnasium in the area. Each of the recipients who are either house owners, sharers, boarders, or renters received cash assistance and a 10-kilo pack of rice from the lawmaker’s office. Davao Fire District Intelligence and Investigation Office head SFO4 Ramil Gillado said the blaze started on the first floor of the two-story house of a certain Ramon John Solite. Damage to property was estimated at P500,000.
