NEW DELHI: Agriculture minister Narendra Singh Tomar on Tuesday met representatives of two farmer groups who pledged support for the new farm laws and demanded for their continuation without changes.
“These laws have been made keeping in mind benefits for larger farming community. There are only few farmer groups protesting against the new rules. They have their own reasons for protest. We will soon resolve it,” Tomar said after the meeting. There was ‘concern’ among a large number of farmer groups that the government could amend provisions under pressure from protesting farmers.
