Chandigarh, Feb 02: The Shiromani Akali Dal on Tuesday alleged that the vehicle of its chief Sukhbir Singh Badal was pelted with stones when party workers were attacked by Congress members in Punjab s Jalalabad.
Four persons were injured in the incident at Jalalabad Tehsil complex. However, Badal was unhurt, they said.

Badal was accompanying Akali candidates for filing of nomination papers for the February 14 civic polls.
His media advisor Jangveer Singh alleged that Akali workers were attacked by the Congress workers led by son of ruling party MLA Raminder Singh Awla.

On Tuesday, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal s vehicle was attacked in Punjab s Jalalabad area.
The video of the incident shared by news agency ANI shows several people armed with sticks and stones attacking Badal s vehicle.

Meanwhile, the SAD has claimed Congress goons were behind the attack, and that three SAD workers were shot as well. Police backed Congress goons today made an attempt on the life of SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal. Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal s vehicle was attacked in Jalalabad, Punjab, when he had accompanied party candidates to file nomination for the February 14 municipal corporation elections.
A video released by ANI shows stones being pelted at Badal s SUV and gunshots could be also be heard. Four persons were injured in the incident at Jalalabad Tehsil complex, PTI reported. However, Badal was unhurt.

Chandigarh: An FIR has been registered against Congress MLA Raminder Singh Awla, his son and 60 other unnamed accused in connection with Jalalabad incident wherein Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal s vehicle was attacked earlier today. Three SAD workers received bullet injuries in the attack.
Clashes broke out between SAD and Congress workers when the nominations were being filled. The SAD chief escaped unhurt in the incident but his car was damaged and four persons were injured during the filing of nomination papers for Jalalabad municipal polls in Fazilka district.
