The Johannesburg specialised commercial crimes court on Friday dismissed the bid by some of the accused in the R191m "blue lights" case to have their fraud and theft case struck off the roll.
The Palm Ridge Commercial Crimes Court has dismissed a bid by two accused in the R191 million "blue light" fraud and theft case to have the case struck from the roll.
This week saw police and former police officers among the 15 accused in the R1.9-million SAPS PPE corruption case begging the court to free them on bail. They are charged with having unlawfully benefited from the supply of latex gloves to the South African Police Service.
Applications by former acting national police commissioner Khomotso Phahlane and former deputy commissioner Bonang Mgwenya, asking the court to enquire about delays in their impending “blue lights” case, began on Thursday.
