PETALING JAYA: After drawing public flak, former premier Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has admitted to breaching Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOP) during a Ramadan event in Langkawi.
The Langkawi MP, in apologising for flouting SOP, also said he is ready to face action over the May 8 event at Surau Tsunami Batu Arang, Kuala Teriang, Kedah.
“On May 8, I went back to Langkawi for several programmes giving out Ramadan and Aidilfitri donations in my Parliamentary constituency.
“I was informed that during that event, I flouted SOPs by not scanning my temperature when I entered the surau.
“That is an offence and it should not have happened. I apologise for not abiding by the SOPs. I will face action according to the relevant laws, he said in a statement on Wednesday (May 12).
