The order is ostensibly to prevent hoarding and black market supply
PANAJI: The state government has decided to prohibit medical oxygen suppliers and manufactures from refilling oxygen cylinders for citizens and volunteer groups unless accompanied by a prescription issued by a primary health centre (PHC) or doctor at any of the Covid-19 hospitals in the state.
In a bid to prevent oxygen refills, North Goa collector Ajit Roy has deputed a few government officers and police personnel at the five major oxygen suppliers in the state.
The unwritten order issued by the North Goa district collector, ostensibly to prevent hoarding and black market supply of oxygen, has also put oxygen dependent patients in home quarantine in a quandary.
