Telangana Floods: At least six persons lost their lives in various rain-related incidents in the last 24 hours in Telangana as the state continued to see heavy downpour leading to inundation of low-lying areas and damage to roads and agricultural crops. All-time rainfall records were broken in Telangana with 649mm of rain pummelling the remote Venkatapur mandal in Mulugu district from July 26 till 8am on July 27. Two IAF helicopters, NDRF and fire services personnel were swung into action to rescue over 1,900 residents from Moranchapalli village in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district. As many as 3,300 people have been shifted to relief centres in Bhadradri Kothagudem district as the overflowing Godavari flooded low-lying areas. Hundreds of people caught in the floodwaters in several districts were shifted to safer places by various agencies.
