MARION Join the Marion Art Center and Cape Cod Composer Michael Donovan for “Postcards from Buzzards Bay,” a musical celebration of all who live in the region.
On May 16 at 3 p.m., the art center will present a virtual encore of the Tri-County Symphonic Band performing the premiere of “Postcards from Buzzards Bay” and other works about the sea.
The concert will be accompanied by images both vintage postcards and original art of Buzzards Bay.

Ziggy Marley’s first show of 2021 performing with his entire band behind him will be at the
Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach.
“I grew up there,” said Marley. “As a teenager and as an adult, for me it’s a special place.”

The son of reggae legend Bob Marley has been busy, even with live performances in front of audiences on the shelf for now. He collaborated with Colombian reggaeton singer Maluma on a single called “Tonika” for Maluma’s album “7 Dias en Jamaica,” and Paramount Pictures has announced that Marley, along with his mother Rita and sister Cedella, will be co-producers of a new Bob Marley biopic.
The Natchitoches-Northwestern Symphony Orchestra will present a concert on Feb. 8-9 at 7:30 p.m. in Magale Recital Hall. Douglas Bakenhus is music director of the Natchitoches-Northwestern Symphony Orchestra. Juan Pablo Paternina Paez is the graduate assistant conductor. The Feb. 8 concert is for NSU students. Admission is free with a current student I.D. Tickets to the Feb. 9 concert are for the general public and are $15. Seating is limited to 72. Masks are required and social distancing should be observed. Symphony season ticket subscribers are encouraged to make reservations by calling (318) 357-4522. Any reservation made and not claimed by 7:20 p.m. the night of the performance will be released.
