Like many cultural venues around the country, the Norton Museum of Art has adapted to operating during a global pandemic, and the celebration of the organization’s 80th anniversary is no exception.
The Norton’s traditional dinner dance anniversary gala, which would draw in dozens of benefactors for cocktails and an exhibit tour of the museum, has been replaced with two events this year: A virtual anniversary celebration for museum donors at 6 p.m. Saturday and an art auction presented and hosted by Sotheby’s on its website through Monday.
Those who want to attend the virtual celebration hosted by the Norton’s new director and CEO Ghislain d Humieres, can do so by purchasing tickets through the Norton’s website, www.norton.org/80th.
