A prisoner convicted of killing a Santa Rosa man in 1980 could be paroled. Last week, the state parole commissioners said that 64-year-old Robert Lee Hill no longer posed a threat to others. Although granted parole by the commissioners, it will be reviewed by the board’s legal office and could also be referred to the full board of commissioners. After that, Governor Newsom has the final review and can allow the decision to stand, reverse it or refer it to the board for review. Hill was convicted of killing Ralph Currier during a burglary that occurred off Occidental Road. Currier suffered 17 stab wounds.
