Bradenton Beach restaurants will soon start seeing strict enforcement of outdoor entertainment noise violations, which could affect their right to expanded outdoor dining that was granted by the city in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The city implemented the ordinance expanding open air dining at local businesses in 2020 to allow restaurants to operate during the COVID-19 emergency through seating of more patrons outdoors. On Thursday the city voted unanimously to extend the ordinance, with some changes.
Most of the conversation revolved around how to best address the additional noise created because of expanded outdoor dining. The city has not actively enforced it s live entertainment rules throughout the pandemic, and some businesses have started to allow their their music and entertainment to creep outdoors as well, against city policy, making music more audible in nearby neighborhoods.
