congresswomen of color, in particular omar who was born in somalia, though chants were heard and really set a tone for an ugly year and a half of campaign fought along the lines of race and he divisiveness. we didn t hear that last night. the president did not mention any of those congresswomen so there was no moment for them to start with that chant again. we ve now had a few rallies in a row which we have not heard it. but last night s rally is still potentially an interesting moment for this president because of today s special election in north carolina where he is trying to push a republican candidate across the finish line to win an open seat there. and it s being viewed sort of as a referendum on his political clout right now. the district is part of it is the suburban areas are outside charlotte where he has struggled in the past. it s a seat republicans held for quite some time. the polling indicates it s close. and we saw from the president this is the first time in his rally
hopeful that will be there. that s right. president trump heading to the border to take his argument for more border security and border wall funding down to texas. he will be greeted by counter protesters. as he leaves washington he is leaving these talks in a really bad place essentially. he had his acting chief of staff saying he believed the talks were basically leading towards another shutdown. president trump spent so much of the last several days saying they are standing in the way of talks. essentially as he goes down to the border it s basically president trump against the government here in washington. it s very likely we could be facing yet another government shutdown and president trump is going to be making that case in a rally setting. remember, these are the places where president trump is the most loose, the most free essentially. it could be a place we could see many more attacks. thanks very much. joining us now is republican
