fertile soil will be used for commercial purposes; civic body says, the soil was to be used for Moshi depot to create compost
The residents of
Sangvi on Saturday caught a contractor of Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (
PCMC) red-handed while excavating soil from the banks of the Pavana. The civic body has said that the person was supposed to use the fertile soil at Moshi garbage depot to create compost from waste. Nonetheless, the locals were unconvinced they cited the threat of floods in lowlying areas of Sangvi and Dapodi.

Citizens of Sangvi and
Pimple Gurav complained about the whiteflies infesting roadside laburnum trees creating health and road safety hazards, in the hope that the civic body would fumigate the affected green cover
When they reported a pestilence afflicting the laburnum trees planted on the roadsides by the civic body, residents of Sangvi and Pimple Gurav anticipated that Pimpri- Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) would respond with fumigation and proper pest control. Instead, much to their horror, they watched the branches of the trees being hacked off, compromising the area’s green cover. Shocked, they’ve drawn the attention of the municipal commissioner, Shravan Hardikar, to the ineffective and inappropriate resolution offered, seeking his intervention.
