Sundays attack. Correspondent Steve Harrigan reports from orlando. The president and Vice President arrived in orlando to offer comfort at the scene of this past weekends terror attack. It was president obamas eighth visit in seven years to grieve with survivors of an american mass shooting. This one the worst in u. S. History. Today the Vice President and i told them, on behalf of the american people, that our hearts are broken, too. And that we stand with you. We will continue to be relentless against terrorist groups like isil and al qaeda. We are going to destroy them. Both men spent several hours meeting with first responders, and family members of those who were killed, as well as those who survived the attack. For some the emotions have become too tough to bear. Investigators are learning more about the killers actions sunday morning. A News Conference on the coldblooded killing in the pop singer of Christina Grimmie. She was a finalist on the voice. She was shot and killed after signing autographs after a concert. Lets go to the presser. More updates after the shooting. 10 30 last night, we received multiple calls about shots being fired from inside the plaza. Our officer responded within two minutes secured the scene. Inside, found two people that had been shot. So based on our investigation thus far, it appears that a white male, 21 years of age, approached Christina Grimmie. This was after the show. There were about 120 people inside the plaza. And she was doing like a meet and greet, signing autographs and selling merchandise. So this white male approached her and opened fire, striking her. At that, almost immediately, her brother Marcus Grimmie tackled the suspect to the ground. Shortly after that, the suspect killed himself. And obviously, as we know, unfortunately, Christina Grimmie succumbed to those gunsho
And then this. The children whose lives he touched. The young people he inspired. The most important thing of all. So i ask you to remember that. We all have an ali story. Its the gift we all have. That should be most honored today. Because he released them to the world. Never wasting a day that the rest of us could see, anyway, feeling sorry for himself that he had parkinsons. Knowing that more than three decades of his life would be circumscribed in ways that would be chilling to the naked eye. But with the free spirit, it made his life bigger, not smaller. Because other people, all of us unlettered, unschooled, said well would you look at that . Look at that. May not be able to run across a ring any more. May not be able to dodge everybody and exhaust everybody any moreth and hes bigger than ever, because he is a free man of faith. Sharing the gifts we all have.
