Supermarket Association of Trinidad and Tobago President Rajiv Diptee
The Supermarket Association of Trinidad and Tobago said it is seeking to vaccinate all 30,000 of its members “as soon as possible.”
In a statement issued earlier today, SATT said supermarket workers are essential workers.
It explained that the majority of workers, since March 2020, were deemed essential staff and have been on the front lines serving customers.
SATT said when the COVID-19 pandemic was declared globally on March 11 2020, it led the way in implementing measures to protect employees and consumers against the virus, while satisfying the demand of customers for grocery items and operating regularly to prevent panic buying and market disruption.

The Supermarkets Association (SATT) is seeking 30,000 covid19 vaccines for its staff and according to its president, members are willing to pay for them.
In a media release on Wednesday, the association s head Rajiv Diptee said it was in talks with the Ministry of Health (MoH) about the process.
In reply, Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh requested SATT to show how they intended to procure the vaccines and to properly administer them.
