Himachal Pradesh government has proposed a new township near Shimla at Jathia Devi. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 1,374 crore, with the Union ministry of housing & urban affairs contributing Rs 512 crore and the state government paying Rs 862 crore. The township is expected to have a residential occupancy of 20,000 persons in the next 5-10 years, generating employment opportunities and boosting the economy of the region.
