A local court on Wednesday send Malayalam actor Unni Dev to 14 days judicial custody for abetment to his wife’s suicide. Unni Dev, the son of late actor Rajan P. Dev, was arrested on Tuesday after his wife Priyanka ended her life on May 12 by hanging her herself at her home in Vattapara, near here.
Unni Dev, who has acted in a few Malayalam films, has confessed to “causing duress to his wife”, according to the police.
The Nedumangad police team arrived at his home in Ernakulam district on Tuesday and took him into custody after ensuring that he was Covid negative. He was brought to the state capital, where the case was registered.

Unni Dev, the son of late actor Rajan P Dev on Tuesday was taken into custody and the arrest was made for the suicide of his wife Priyanka, early this month. Unni Dev is also an actor who has acted in a few Malayalam films.
The Nedumangad police team, near here arrived at his home in Ernakulam district and took him into custody and after ensuring that he has become COVID-19 negative, went ahead with the procedures.
