Govt, Opp again trade barbs on board exams July 13, 2021 ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood and opposition members on Monday again traded barbs in the National Assembly on the issue of delay in board examinations to give more time to students for making preparations. Shafqat said the opposition for the sake of cheap popularity is demanding delay in board examinations. Responding to the demand of the opposition to delay the examinations, he said it was a unanimous decision of all political forces and federating units that board papers would be taken. “We promoted students last year because we had results of the previous year, but this time, it is not possible,” he said. Govt rejects opposition’s demand to delay Inter exams July 9, 2021 ISLAMABAD: The government on the floor of the National Assembly on Thursday rejected the demand of the opposition parties to delay Intermediate examinations to be taken by the Federal Board on Saturday and in Punjab by the end of this month. PML-N Parliamentarians Ahsan Iqbal, Maiza Hameed, Khwaja Saad Rafique, Marriyum Aurengzeb and Dr Darshan raised the issue on a call attention notice. The opposition members were of the view that the Intermediate examinations are being taken on a short notice without covering the syllabus. Parliamentary Secretary for Education Wajiha Akram opposed the delay in Intermediate examinations, questioning under which formula the students would be promoted and on which merit they would be admitted to professional educational institutions.
