A PENSIONER says she has been given a new lease of life after being given the coronavirus vaccine. 80-year-old Jean Laws, from Braintree, was one of the first people to be given the jab at the new vaccination centre at Broomfield Hospital. The centre opened for the first time last week and is prioritising the over 80s and frontline NHS staff. It is administering the Pfizer vaccine, which was the first to be approved in the UK. Speaking after getting her jab, Ms Laws said: It’s so important to me to get a new lease of life and get back to normal again.
Sally Wraight, 83, travelled from Clacton for her jab. She said she felt no pain having the vaccine.

“I’ve had the jab and I am looking forward to having my second one now. It will make such a big difference. I think I would be silly not to have the jab especially with the emergence of the new strain. We must take every opportunity we can to protect ourselves.”
Residents should wait to hear from their GP about an appointment for the Covid vaccination, which is given free of charge.
