The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) reported the alarming figures around 7 AM on Monday, highlighting the return of the hazardous haze over the national capital.
As per the data from the CPCB recorded at 6:00 am on Thursday morning, the Air quality index at Anand Vihar was at 387 (very poor); At ITO, Delhi it was 343 (very poor) while the AQI at Wazirpur, Delhi, was 422 (severe), at RK Puram, it was 415 ( severe).
A day after restrictions under the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) - 4 were lifted in Delhi following improvement in the air quality, Environment Minister Gopal Rai on Sunday urged people to be careful and continue to follow the rules as stages 1, 2, and 3 of GRAP are still in place to tackle air pollution in the national capital.
Delhi Weather Report: The Central Pollution Control Board reported a significant escalation in the AQI, with areas such as RK Puram, Jahangirpuri, Punjabi Bagh, and IGI Airport registering levels over 400. Specifically, RK Puram recorded an AQI of 417, Punjabi Bagh at 410, ITO at 430, IGI Airport at 430, and Jahangirpuri at 428.
