Boone Niederhofer, 27, qualified for the U.S. men s national bobsled team on Monday. The team announced the roster for the upcoming season after a series of selection races. Niederhofer was absolutely pumped to have made the team but noted that it was just a stepping stone on the road to Beijing 2022. Niederhofer took a winding road from the Texas heat to an elite winter sport. A 2012 graduate of Churchill High School, he starred for the Chargers football team but received only one non-FBS offer.
