up to 14 or 15 degrees, much colder than that across scotland. and rain pushes northwards as we reach new year s eve midnight. so it could be quite wet through central areas, but some drier spells of weather developing for a time in the south.
we are closing out 2022 on an unsettled note. we have got low pressure nearby, so many places on new year s eve will be rather cloudy, further rain across the south, some wintriness across northern scotland. this area of low pressure brought some rain to our shores this morning. a bit of a sting in its tail pulls out into the norwegian sea, a spell of very windy weather across northern scotland, gusts of up to 70 mph here, further sleet and snow, a risk of ice as well. further south we have weather fronts bringing in outbreaks of rain, it will be quite breezy here too, but much milder in the south, compared to what it will be further north. and we hold onto that north south divide with temperatures throughout new year s eve. further sleet and snow in the north, across the south it stays rather cloudy, outbreaks of rain, some of it heavy and persistent across southern britain, but here very mild, up to 14 or 15 degrees. much colder than that, though, as you can see, across scotland. and
