Another system is expected to form in the Bay of Bengal, close on the heels on the earlier one which now low Pressure area over parts of Uttar Pradesh and will gradually flatten. By the time it flattens completely we expect the system to mark its presence. This system will start as a cyclonic circulation forming around September 17 over North Bay of Bengal.
Unlike Delhi where Monsoon is closer to its withdrawal, Kolkata continues to see Monsoon rains even until mid of October at times. Weather wise also, unlike other cities, Kolkata sees similar weather in terms of temperature, rain and conditions in July, August and September.
Moderate rain and thundershowers are expected over many parts of the states between 01st and 05th September. Southward shift of the trough will reduce the spread and intensity on the following days.
Scanty rains are likely over eastern parts and these will remain limited to southern half of Jharkhand and lower half of Gangetic West Bengal. State of Bihar will largely stay dry for one week.
Weather activity will start today itself and stay for next 48hr covering Odisha, South Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and extreme southern parts of West Bengal. On 17thand 18th, in addition to these areas, East Madhya Pradesh will also witness fairly wide spread rain and thundershower.
