Around December 22 and 23, the effect of this particular system will be over the hills resulting in good snow and rain over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. December 24 onward, the system will extend to the plains as well, giving some good rains over the North Indian Plains including Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan.
A fresh Western Disturbance has reached the Western Himalayas. Due to its effect, there is a possibility of rain and snow in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on 5th December. Light to moderate rain at one or two places is possible over northern districts of Punjab, Haryana and West Uttar Pradesh.
Light to moderate rain with few heavy spells of rain and snow are expected over Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh on December 5th. Rain and snow will be light over Uttarakhand. Light rain with few moderate spells of rain is possible over Punjab, parts of Haryana, North West Uttar Pradesh and isolated pockets of Delhi and NCR.
The first major Western Disturbance of the winter season will reach Jammu and Kashmir around December 5 and during December 5 and 6, most parts of the mountains will see rain and snowfall.
These rains were a two-day event, on October 23, rain and snow were seen over the hilly regions of Jammu and Kashmir along with rainfall in parts of Punjab. On October 24, good rains were witnessed over Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Delhi region as well. Hailstorm has also been reported in parts of Haryana namely Yamunanagar, Ambala including Delhi.
