Winter season is now going to end soon. But we have not seen any significant rain activity over northern plains until now. Winter rains are common during month of November and December as well as during January. Scattered light rain occurred over Northern parts of Punjab, Haryana and Northwest Uttar Pradesh and isolated over Delhi and Rajasthan between January 11 and 14.
The Western Disturbance is currently moving across the Western Himalayas and its induced Circulation is over Northwest rajasthan and adjoining areas. With this, we can expect rain and snow over the higher and mid reaches of the hills of North India to continue with other areas to see rains at least until tomorrow.
Now conditions are favorable for scattered rain to occur over parts of Punjab, Haryana, north Rajasthan Delhi and at one or two places over western part of Uttar Pradesh. Intensity of rains will remain light.
Another low pressure area or monsoon circulation is expected to form on 26th Sep over Bay of Bengal and coastal parts of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh. However, this will not travel up to Rajasthan and West Madhya Pradesh and stop short of Central Madhya Pradesh.
There may be isolated thundery activities or light rain over parts of Delhi and East Haryana around September 25th or 26th. Thereafter, Monsoon will start withdrawing and by the end of September monsoon may withdraw from Delhi as well.
