Withdrawal of Monsoon usually commences from September 20 and completes by October 5th from Gujarat. Therefore, hopes are still alive for a revival of Monsoon over the state in in September.
Thus, light rains may be seen over the next 24 hours. This activity will be of passing nature, being seen at a few places, and light in nature. August 26 onward, until the end of the month, the state of Gujarat is expected to see dry weather. The same dry spell may spill over to the first few days of September as well.
In addition to this, there are multiple features over Gujarat including the Monsoon trough, which is passing through Gujarat including Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad. An off shore trough is extending from Gujarat to Konkan region. An east west shear zone is also persisting across GUjarat.
Saurashtra and Kutch will see mostly moderate with isolated heavy spells including Okha, Jamnagar, Porbandar, Naliya, Bhuj etc.. Heavy rains will be seen tomorrow over Saurashtra and Kutch with moderate spells over rest of Gujarat.
Today, moderate rains may be seen with isolated heavy showers. Tomorrow, rains may be moderate to heavy rains. Around August 10, the system will intensify, come further closer when a very well marked Cyclonic Circulation will be seen over the state of Gujarat.
