in north texas, heavy rain expected. a flash flood watch in effect through tomorrow afternoon in the dallas and ft. worth area. they certainly don t need more rain in rhode island, but it is coming. flash flood warnings have been lifted in new port county. they have seen two inches of rain this week. now, a new round of thunderstorms could trigger more floods. boston and surrounding suburbs submerged this morning. severe thunderstorms also pounding southeast massachusetts. a 12-year-old pennsylvania girl should be counting her lucky stars after flash floods sucked her into a storm drain. wow. she was checking out the flooting with her friends on monday. she ended up being pulled hundreds of feet underground. it was scary, dark scary. my mom helped me through, though. i was thinking of my dad, my
worth area. rhode island hit hard with rain. swamped by two inches of rain that fell over massachusetts as well. it left neighborhoods there under water. boston and its surrounding suburbs are submerged this morning. flash flooding reports in lexington, medford and arlington. that s not all. severe thunderstorms are slamming southeast massachusetts. it has been a dangerous stormy week for much of the nation. so many places hit by so much different stuff. indra petersons, what s in store today? great toss to me. make it better, now! the northeast is going to feel better. the low that s responsible for it is shifting out of here. we are left with cool, mild weather. it is better somewhere. you can feel it. the morning hours. look at the ems, 50s in the midwest. d.c. waking up in the 60s. you start off cool, you are
northeast. we re starting off below freezing but warm up nicely throughout the day. 29 in boston. 32 in new york and 32 in washington, d.c. we do have lake-effect snow. there s a little disturbance moving through the eastern great lakes right now. most of the snow we see will be north of syracuse. we could end up with six to 12 inches today. but across the east coast itself we re looking for a good amount of sunshine, 49 degrees in washington, d.c. it is going to be a nice pleasant day. further south down across southern texas that s where we have a bigger storm system that will affect the southeast by saturday and eventually the northeast by sunday. we ll see perhaps as much as a couple of inches of run across parts of southern texas. temperatures should be in the 50s. as we head into the weekend we should see rain in atlanta. you re watching morning joe. we ll be right back.
