Divisional Railway Manager Chetan Kumar Shrivastava has said that Waltair Division has overcome the odds posed by the pandemic and achieved good performance in the last quarter of 2020-21 fiscal. It excelled in various fields like safety, security, infrastructure development and implementation of innovative measures.
He unfurled the national tricolour and took the ‘Rashtriya Salami’ presented by the contingents of Railway Protection Force (RPF), cadets of Bharat Scouts and Guides and Civil Defence at the Railway Football grounds here on the occasion of Republic Day.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Shrivastava commended the relentless efforts of the staff in ensuring uninterrupted supply of essential commodities throughout the country during the COVID-19 pandemic.

South Central Railway (SCR) celebrated the annual ‘Railway Week’, usually celebrated in April but that got put off due to COVID pandemic, on Wednesday by giving away 173 individual awards and 11 group awards to officers and staff.
General Manager Gajanan Mallya appreciated his personnel for ‘best performance’ in the last financial year with gross earnings of ₹13,771 crore with freight generating ₹9,029 crore from 105 MTs and had carried 363 million passengers earning ₹4,119 crore revenue before the pandemic struck.
In a virtual meeting, the GM 60 km were commissioned and 218 km of doubling/tripling works were completed last year, including projects between Kalluru – Guntakal, Guntur – Tenali and Parbhani – Mudkhed sections. The zone’s first ever quadruple section between Moula Ali – Ghatkesar of 12 km was opened and 153 km was electrified.

Twenty-eight employees of the Guntakal Division of South Central Railway bagged 28 zonal awards for their excellence in performance during the 65th Railway Week celebrations.
Awards announced and presented through video conference due to COVID-19 protocols. The division bagged 21 individual awards, two group awards, and five efficiency shields from among the six divisions and three workshops of the South Central Railway. Guntakal Divisional Railway Manager Alok Tiwari did the honours in Guntakal by presenting the awards to the employees.
In the function, awards were given to 170 officers and employees for outstanding work by general manager NCR Rajiv Chaudhry.
