Apart from cancelling the trains, the Western Railways said various safety and security precautions have also been taken for train passengers of these cyclone-prone areas.
A total of 67 trains have been cancelled in view of cyclone Biparjoy which is set to make landfall on Thursday in Gujarat, said CPRO Western Railway on Monday.
The Western Railway on Monday said that five trains from Mumbai to Gujarat have been cancelled as a precautionary measure. "Train operations will remain suspended for the next 2-3 days at Veraval, Porbandar, Okha, Dwarka, Gandhidham and Bhuj," Ashok Kumar Mishra, General Manager, Western Railway said.
The Western Railway on Monday short-terminated more than 50 trains heading to coastal areas of Gujarat in view of powerful cyclone 'Biparjoy' and is considering cancellation of several trains over the next three days, a release said.
