As you might guess, i am very pleased to announce a tentative Labor Agreement between that has been reached between the Railroad Workers and the railway companies. This agreement is a big win for america, and for both in my view. I want to thank the negotiators from the labor movement, the brother of locomotive engineers, the trainmen, International Association of sheet metal and air and rail and transportation workers unions, and other labor unions engaged. And this is a win for tens of thousands of rail workers and for their dignity and the dignity of their work. Its a recognition of that. Tha. In the early, dark, uncertain days of the pandemic, they showed up so every american could keep going. They worked tirelessly through the pandemic to ensure that families and communities got the deliveries they needed during these difficult few years. Because of the Labor Agreement, those rail

So thats on top of that train released a statement saying, in part if a strike is called free and passenger operations on corridors managed by freight railroads will cease , including the Union Pacific rail lines that caltrain uses to provide service from tammy in to and from gilroy. Caltrain hopes that all parties will come to an agreement that avoids a service interruption. I hope they solve it before his strike. Im sure they got good reasons and hopefully they can settle it. As of wednesday, nine of the 12 unions negotiating with Large Railroad companies have come to an agreement, but all of the unions have to agree on a settlement to avoid a strike. The white house is also weighing in on the issue, pushing both sides to get a deal done by friday.
