FORMER Tyrone and St Enda’s goalkeeper Thady Turbett has died at the age of 92.
Turbett had a long and successful playing career from the forties through to the sixties and was in goals when Tyrone won their first Ulster senior titles in 1956 and 1957. He was widely regarded as one of the greatest goalkeepers of his generation.
As a fresh-faced 18 year old, Turbett was Omagh St Enda’s goalkeeper when they won their historic first ever Tyrone Senior Championship title in 1948.
