Vadodara: Railway line connecting Vadodara to world’s tallest statue – the Statue of Unity (SoU) – at Kevadiya will be ready for operations by January 17.
Suneet Sharma, chairman and chief executive officer of Railway Board said this on Wednesday after carrying out inspection of the railway line.
Sharma along with general manager of Western Railway Alok Kansal and divisional railway manager of Vadodara railway division Devender Kumar inspected the preparations at Kevadiya railway station which along with the new railway line will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually on Sunday.
Ahead of the D-day, work on the railway line has started on war footing. Sharma reached Kevadiya via road from Chandod railway station where he had reached through inspection car from Ahmedabad passing Pratapnagar and Dabhoi railway stations.
