A lot of firefighters there exhausted in the bay area responding and are head to go the thomas fire in Santa Barbara county where three San Mateo County fire engine strike teams had been deployed and the thomas fire this morning now at 230,000 acres. It is now the fifth largest wildfire in state history and flames are going through the vegetation there that hasnt burned in 100 years near carpinteria. Residents have been ordered to evacuate. We literally jumped into our clothes, grabbed our son. I grabbed some pictures. But because i was doing that, i put my phone down and we just literally ran out the door. The thomas fire right now the only major blaze still really causing a concern this morning. The other wildfires in the state are at least 75 contained. I thought it was ap earthquake. Because it shook the buildings and then when we jumped up and saw everything, we tried to call 911 on cell phones and hooked up to wifi, we couldnt get through. Portion of the sea wall that washed out during the weekend storms. Drone video shot this afternoon shows the lower section of the wall without any sand or rock supporting its base. Sand just, you know, washed away and thats why we have a big cavity. Reporter the sand behind the sea wall was carved out because of rain runoff and a Drainage Pipe that broke. Concrete will shore up the base of the wall again and crews will refill the walkway with sand. Popular walkway, is it going to rehope . Of course. Its supposed to open hopefully by the end of this week. The preparations for the cement pure stirred a bit of excitement and concern. Workers installed a chain link fence on the overlook and then two men tethered down the side of the hill to take a look at how much of the base was washed out. One resident whose apartment faces the cliff says he was concerned for the workers safety. Thanks, chuck. New video tonight showing a violent end to a police chase in the east bay. A driver rammed a chp car injuring the officer inside. The chase began when the chp stopped the blue honda for a Traffic Violation at san creek road and highway 4 near brent wood. When the officer approached the honda investigators say it took off. During the chase, police say the passenger tossed out two guns from the window and then when the honda was cornered in a culdesac, it plowed into the chp car.
