Targeted Killings to Be Discussed in Talks: Stanekzai
Chief negotiator Masoom Stanekzai on Friday said the issue of targeted attacks on journalists is a serious matter and will be raised in the talks with the Taliban when they resume on January 5.
“This is one of the serious issues that we need to raise and follow,” Stanekzai said.
Six journalists have been killed in various incidents in the country over the last two months.
On Friday, Bismillah Adil Aimaq, a journalist and civil society activist in Ghor, was killed in an attack by unknown armed men in the city of Feroz Koh, the center of the province, local officials said.

Bismillah Adil Aimaq was on the road near Feroz Koh, the provincial capital of Ghor, returning home to the city after visiting his family in a village nearby, when gunmen opened fire at the vehicle. According to the provincial governor s spokesman, Arif Abir, others in the car, including Aimaq s brother, were unharmed. Aimaq worked as the head of the local Radio Sada-e-Ghor station and was also a human rights activist in the province.

An Afghan radio journalist was shot dead Friday in a car ambush in the central province of Ghor, officials said, the fifth media worker to be killed in two months.
Besmullah Adel Aimaq, editor-in-chief of Voice of Ghor radio, was killed en route to Firoz Koh city, the capital of Ghor province, said Aref Aber, the governor s spokesman.
