After 15 seasons and one national championship at LSU, Paul Mainieri has announced he’s retiring as a college baseball coach. Mainieri has the most career victories among active Division one coaches, but his team had a losing record in SEC play this year. Tiger Rag Editor Ron Higgins said the 63-year-old is also dealing with a health issue.
“He’s been in pain a lot, he’s had two neck surgeries over the last two years, still kinda grieving losing his dad a couple of years ago, I’m glad he realized he has nothing left to prove,” Higgins said.

LSU’s associate athletic director of football recruiting, Sharon Lewis, tells the USA Today she will file several lawsuits against the school, claiming she was mistreated for trying to stop sexual harassment.
