Niger killings: Senate to meet with Buhari

Share The Senate, on Tuesday, resolved to meet with President Muhammadu Buhari to discuss the security situation in the country occasioned by insurgency, banditry and kidnapping. The resolution was on the heels of a motion by Senator representing Niger East, Sani Musa. Senator Musa while presenting his motion recalled the activities of bandits and Boko Haram terrorists in Shiroro, Munya and Rafi Local Government Areas of Niger State which he noted has taken a dangerous dimension. He noted that almost seven years now his senatorial district has come under constant and sustained multiple deadly attacks by heartless, venomous and hydra-headed Boko Haram terrorists who are always heavily armed with assorted sophisticated and dangerous weapons unleashing their horror on our innocent populace.

Ransom Negotiations Ongoing for Kidnapped Pastor in Niger State, Nigeria

State Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Reverend Mathias Echioda, confirmed the story to the Sun News, stating: “ We are praying for his release safely.” The incident, occurring in the Tegina, Rafi Local Government area of Niger State, has left family members devastated and searching for ways to raise the large sum of money for the pastor’s release.

Niger: Allawa youths threaten to occupy govt facilities over increased attack by bandits

Daily Post Nigeria Published Youths of Allawa community in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State has threatened to mobilize their displaced and hopeless kinsmen to occupy and take shelter in Government facilities within Minna if Government refuses to draft the Joint Security Force Team to the area. Issuing the threats at a press conference in Minna, the President, Lakpma Youth Assembly, Jibrin Allawa said the withdrawal of military operations following the recent attack and killing of five Nigerian Army and a Civil Defense personnel in the area has led to increasing attacks on the area by bandits. He claimed armed bandits have captured eight out of the ten wards of Allawa and dislodged the people from their homes.

Bandits Kidnap 30 in Niger Village

By Laleye Dipo No fewer than 30 villagers were Monday kidnapped in Kutunku village in Wushishi Local Government Area of Niger State. A reliable source told THISDAY on telephone that the heavily armed bandits stormed the village on foot and rounded up the villagers. The bandits were said to have hidden their motorcycles in an orchard close to the village and from there trekked to their target, a development that did not arouse the suspicion of the villagers until it was late. “They forced them to trek along with them to their camp,” the source said, adding that the bandits are yet to contact families of those kidnapped.
