Tell us about your new project. Konal: The project has been created to celebrate the golden jubilee of our country s independence. The song, Through The Tiger s Eye, is a part of the initiative under the Artists4Desh. Most of the organisers are foreigners, and one of them is Daniel Seidel. He is originally from Germany, but he spent twentty years in Bangladesh as a diplomat and also worked for the people here. So, he has a special connection to Bangladesh, which is why he was inspired to begin this initiative. This is a global project, which involves songs, photo exhibitions, concerts, and books being released. This is targeted to audiences globally to promote the celebration of fifty years of independence of Bangladesh, and to teach about Bangladesh. The idea was actually inspired from the 1971 Concert for Bangladesh. We have included a part of the original song by George Harrison in our song to pay homage. What sort of music do you enjoy making the most? Oyshee: I think that music is something that really depends on the mood of the person making it. That is the case for me. There will be times when I feel like making a certain form of music, but in other times, I will feel better making another kind. But, overall, I always feel happy making folk songs at any moment. I am very happy to be here. Rafi: You recently made a song in tribute to Bangabandhu in celebration of his 100th birthday. What inspired you to do so? Kumar: I consider myself very fortunate to have been able to witness the fight for the freedom of Bangladesh. I was not old enough to fight for liberation, but I was old enough to understand what was going on. I was around seven or eight years old, and I had seen a lot of the war. With us reaching the fiftieth anniversary of our independence, I felt that I should also celebrate the man who led us to that independence. I m blessed to sing about Bangabandhu. We are all grateful to him for what he has done for us. Without his contributions, we would not be able to call ourselves Bangladeshi. The song that I made about him was amazing. Ga
