Director Paul Feig and Golden Globe nominee Kerry Washington took to Twitter to reveal the first
School for Good and Evil photos for Netflix’s forthcoming film adaptation of Soman Chainani’s fantasy YA novel of the same name. Set for a 2022 debut, the film will center around a group of young adults as they enroll in an enchanted school where they will be trained to either become heroes or villains.
The first photo is a behind-the-scenes look at the project’s ongoing production in Belfast, featuring Feig with Washington and Oscar winner Charlize Theron. As for the second photo, it provided us a closer look at the
Oscar nominee Laurence Fishburne (
Ant-Man and The Wasp) and
Crazy Rich Asians star Michelle Yeoh have officially signed on to join the cast of Netflix’s film adaptation of
The School for Good and Evil, based on Soman Chainani’s fantasy YA novel series of the same name, according to Deadline. Fishburne and Yeoh are joining previously cast Kerry Washington (
Little Fires Everywhere) and Charlize Theron (
The Old Guard), along with young leads Sofia Wylie and Sophia Anne Caruso.
Fishburne is set to portray the role of The School Master. In the books, the character’s real name is Rafal Mistral, who is described as a mysterious figure hiding behind a silver mask. As for Yeoh, she will be playing Professor Anemone, who is the School for Good’s teacher for Beautification. Washington and Theron will star alongside Wylie (
