Five Michigan communities are the winners of the 2021 Main Street Vibrancy Grant.
It’s all a part of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation’s Michigan Main Street Grant Program aimed at helping struggling downtowns across the state.
Of the 24 communities that worked hard to be eligible for the grant, Grayling Downtown Development Authority was named one of the winners and will receive $20,000.
And the city already has plans.
Residents can expect to see a clock and art soon, as well as more outdoor seating, sanitation stations, and signage to find your way.
“Our downtown means it’s a place where we can make our memories it’s our place,” said Rae Gosling, Director of Grayling Main Street. “It’s where everyone wants to come home to. Where you can meet your friends to have dinner or to grab a gift for a baby shower. It’s really that element of pride in our community.”
